The youtuber Xisumavoid frequently comments on how he would like to see inventory improved. Here's a few ideas I've come up with.Backpacks: Crafted with 2 string, 1 chest, 6 leather. It would act as a one-time-use consumable item that would double your inventory size when right clicked while holding it. Once used, the inventory bonus is active until you die. When you die the backpack itself does NOT drop, but all items you are carrying will. You will need to craft a new one to get the effect again. This creates a (seemingly) balanced risk/reward system. If you have a full inventory+backpack, there is the risk of losing half of what you dropped if you don't return to your stuff accounting for that.(Tool) Belts: Crafted with 6 leather (3 top, 3 bottom), 2 string, 1 iron ingot. This item would also be a one-time-consumable when right clicked and it would increase the size/length of the hotbar. Again, you die, belt doesn't drop, items do, you'll need to make a new one. Not sure how much it should add to the hotbar tho, at least 3 spaces for sure, prob 5, 7 sounds like too many, 9 would be overkill (yet I wouldn't say no to it). There is also the drawback of a longer hotbar taking longer to scroll through in emergency situations. What are your thoughts on this? Does the crafting need to be more expensive for their effects? How much should each item grant for extra space? Should they drop on death or not? Would you want to be able to take them off? Should they have a physical effect/display on your character if equipped/applied? Should new equipment slots be added for them and have different sizes exist in game? How would you craft different sizes? via /r/minecraftsuggestions https://ift.tt/34AlHgB
