Going to try one more week. It is actually not that bad for me from a hunger or taste perspective. I've figured out what works. The worst part is continual messy-oily diarrhea in my case. I think it might be "postprandial," as I basically feel urgency immediately after taking more than just a few ounces of the elemental drink down. Too much fat perhaps? Wonder if that gives me any symptom clues for later, like fat malabsorption, postprandial d, or gastric dumping (I get the same thing with lactose free milk smoothies someimtes). This dynamic has led to me eating fewer "meals" than I wanted, but I'm not feeling sluggish or tired. Hard to say what things will feel like after I start to go back to normal foods. This is just the first step in a multi-month process for me involving some herbal antibiotic rounds and then gut healing regimens. Fingers crossed. My preferred recipe for a day's worth of food:10 TBS oil (don't blend if using coconut oil, as it gets chunky)8 TBS honey6 TBS amino acids1.5 tsp saltmultivitamins throughout the day (take these in capsules... don't blend).when blended, it sort of looks like breast milk and isn't that bad tasting all things considered.so, don't be scared of the elemental diet. it is supposed to be the quickest, most effective thing out there. although, surely can't be the best thing in the world for large intestine microbiome...forgot to add: brainfog was pretty bad first few days, and some low energy as my body adjusted. via /r/SIBO https://ift.tt/312DnjJ
