Question: ABV, can I use the final third of I smoked joint?

I've never tried the make edibles before so I decided to try and found a recipe needing "ABV" or "Already Been Vaped" weed. I don't own or know anyone who does, although i smoke my fair share of joints and i thought roaches or half joints may work instead. Is there anyway this would work or am i missing the point of ABV.
