Does blanching for long periods require boiling?

When the recipe says blanching for 10min or 30mins, does the pot have to be boiling during that time to keep the temperature boiling? Otherwise I would think that the water would have cooled down alot after that time. via /r/cookingforbeginners https://ift.tt/2FoUp49
