My dreams have came true and I'm glad I have booked a week off work for this. (Short review of my 6 hours)

First off let me say that me and my friends had no intention of playing the B.E.T.A and were going to play together from launch day whenever we could. This changed after the announcment of the long B.E.T.A test yesterday.Me and my friends were lucky enough to play together for 6 of those 9 hours, which is shocking when we have commitments like work, kids, partners, somehow we were destined to play it.We jumped in around 18:30 UTC and went onto character creation. Great, I was going straight for a look alike me, it's going to be an RPG, screw being a girl this time! Apart from the controls for making your character, I was able to make a character I really liked, unlike the previous few games where I got further into the game and decided I didn't actually like the look of my character anymore. Don't worry, Bethesda got you covered with changing your appearance WHENEVER. Thanks.I was nervous to exit the vault into what would seem an empty world, void of NPC's however I was shocked, and happy. There was a lore explanation as to why there are no humans, and as you did the introductory quests you had so much to sink your teeth into.As I carried on playing with my friends, I realised, I'm actually glad there are holotapes instead of npcs and can understand now why they chose to go down the route of no human npcs.If I'm playing with my friends, I can't and don't really want to listen to an npc. Having to stand there while we all listen to the same dialogue sucks. A holotape allows me to A. Carry on exploring/heading the right direction with my friends, craft or build whatever I'm doing at the time and B. Go back at a later date and actually listen to all the lore when I get my own time to, since that's a fundamental part to the Fallout series.Later on in the game I will be hunting for mats, so I will most likely explore those areas and re-read the terminals so not reading everything isn't a big deal.Everything is so well thought out and apart from a few bugs (my water didn't load, my friends main quest bugged) it was pure FUN from start to finish.Minor spoilerNot to mention we stumbled into Grafton, not expecting to see an actual Grafton monster attacking super mutants and we managed to take it down.Best part is, if me and my friends do want to quest and level together, whenever we aren't online together we can do some crafting, building or lighter exploring/getting recipes, and discover the lore.I need it to be Nov 14 right now. via /r/fo76 https://ift.tt/2Di1PEt
