The Minecart Revamp! Chains, trains & more!

The Minecart Revamp!Minecarts are one of the most iconic features of minecraft, but also one of the most unused and neglected. Why? They are so slow, so expensive to build and not very useful. Other transport options such as riding on horseback and flying with an elytra is so much more efficient.More Minecarts!Minecart with jukebox! Who doesn't like some portable music? This wouldn't be insanely helpful, but it adds a bit of consistency and is just one of the features that make a lot of sense to be added. Minecart Engine! This, when stored with any fuel, will be powered automatically. It will instantly stop when it runs across a powered rail that is being powered. Furnace minecarts will no longer do this, but will be able to transfer the output into a hopper that is below the rail. More on the engine minecart later.Chains!Chains can be crafted with three iron nuggets placed vertically. They CANNOT craft chainmail armor. I feel that chainmail armor is more of a treasure item and prize, rather than a craftable item, because iron is already easier to get and superior to chainmail. It can be used as decoration, or to connect minecarts. It acts like a lead and can create trains by joining multiple minecarts together. Chains can also be used as a lead for hostile mobs.Trains & Stations!Trains can be made by placing several minecarts of any kind and an engine minecart on each end. Then link them all up with chains. Simply power the engine minecart that you want to make it travel in your desired direction. When an engine minecart travels across a Terminal rail, it will quickly come to a stop. If the terminal rail is powered, the Engine minecart will continue onwards. This makes mass transportation a lot easier.Better Rails! One of the main reasons I don't use minecarts is because rails are so darn expensive! The recipe for rails should use iron and gold nuggets, but the output will only give 12 rails. Terminal rails can be crafted with iron nuggets, sticks and an observer block.Minecart Mechanics!Minecarts, when travelling at very high speeds, should be able to damage entities that touch it. This will not only make it more realistic, but open many possibilities for fun mini-games or even a minecart powered mob farms! Minecarts should gain A LOT more momentum when travelling down, to the extent that if it is launched across a gap, it will fly over the gap. Please give me feedback if needed and upvote if you like it! via /r/minecraftsuggestions https://ift.tt/2Bnwv5i
